My Story

I was born in 1971 at Kellswater, Co.Antrim, Northern Ireland. From an early age I developed drawing and painting skills. I went to collage in Belfast in 1990 and studied Graphic Design. After leaving college, I spend 3 years working as a Graphic Designer for a large advertising company near Belfast. I alway Enjoyed painting and was keen to exploit my talent as an artist.

I had my first solo exhibition at Clotsworthy House art gallery, Co.Antrim in 2000 with over twenty paintings on display. After gaining much recognition as a local artist many of my works are now being exhibited in local galleries.

I moved to Derbyshire in England in 2003 where I lived there for 6 years. I painted many interesting places in the Peak District. I attended and exhibited in many major exhibitions including the mall galleries in London, and also Christies in London.

In my paintings I like to capture depth and tonal balance, it is also very important to have a strong composition and perspective within your painting this keeps your painting interesting to the viewer. I enjoy painting country scenes of farming life gone by in Co.Antrim and Seascapes of the North Antrim Coast, also the Mountains of Donegal, in Ireland.
